About the Role
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure customer loyalty by providing exceptional customer service, responding to customer’s questions, and resolving problems in a friendly, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure that all federal, state and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Oversee and record delivery of merchandise, compare records with merchandise ordered and report discrepancies to control costs
- Monitor and maintain proper store cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance as per owner guidelines
- Maintain product stock levels, inventory items and and rotate stock as required
- Assist customers or employees in various departments
- Supervise others by assigning/directing work, conducting employee evaluations, staff training/development, and taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective actions.
Requirements
The Assistant Manager(s) are responsible for assisting the Owners or General Manager with the complete operation of The Company Store in conjunction with assigned tasks and duties. Assistant Managers will also provide training and development of employees in store operations and/or food service departments.
Job Requirements:
The Company Store Assistant Manager(s) must be motivated and positive individuals who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. The ideal candidate(s) should also be organized, detail-oriented and have strong analytic and prioritization skills. In addition, candidates should be able to correctly follow and enforce a given rule or set of rules.Strong verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal and customer-service skills are essential. Assistant Managers will also be responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
Assistant Store Managers work 45 hours a week including some nights and weekends.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma
Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience
Minimum 1 year retail/food service experience
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to stand and walk for 8-10 hours a day. The employee may be occasionally required to climb or balance on a ladder and stoop, kneel, or crouch when stocking and cleaning shelves.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
The employee must be able to work in varying temperatures; Working on the retail floor, in the kitchen and in coolers and freezers
